Thermosyphon Pot System

Thermosyphon Cooling System is designed to dissipate the heat from mechanical seal during operation. Thermosyphon is a method of passive heat exchange, based on natural convection, which circulates a fuid without the necessity of a mechanical pump. The barrier/buffer fuid is circulated to the seal and back to the system by the Thermosyphon effect which means the hotter, lower density water will rise while the cooler, higher density water will sink.

Objective

Thermosyphon Pot is used in double mechanical seals so as to supply external barrier liquid which eliminates the leakage of hazardous process liquid into atmosphere.

Material of Construction

  • Themosyphon Shell: Carbon Steel, SS 304, SS 316.
  • Cooling Coil: SS 304, SS 316, Copper.
  • Empty Weight: 25 kg. (Approx) of 7.5 Liters
  • Secondary Seal: Elastomer.
Note: Hand pump will be supplied on request.
